PSV – Pawsitive Shelter Volunteers 

Pawsitive Shelter Volunteers (PSV) helps pet owners with spay and neuter assistance when they cannot afford the full cost. They also volunteer with Macon County Animal Services and may occasionally assist with unexpected medical expenses for owned pets.

The Yogi Project

The Yogi Project assists pet owners whose cats and dogs are sick or injured and in need of medical care. Their organization primarily focuses on providing support for owned pets requiring medical assistance.

MMCR – Mountain Momma Canine Rescue 

Mountain Momma Rescue is a foster-based rescue organization that may take in cats and dogs when foster homes are available. They also help match adopters with pets looking for homes. MMCR is 501(c)3 non-profit rescue for shelter dogs in need. Does not accept surrendered dogs.

NAHS – Noah's Ark Humane Society 

 NAHS strives to reduce preventable death, suffering, and shelter crowding by making essential veterinary care affordable for families. They deliver high-quality spay/neuter services, preventative care, and some ER medical assistance to families facing financial issues and rescue organizations seeking to efficiently use their medical care budgets.

CHHS – Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society 

Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society (CHHS) is a limited-admission shelter that provides care, housing, and adoption services for cats and dogs. They are also currently working toward building a low-cost veterinary hospital that will provide high-quality medical care.

SDTA – Shelter Dog Transport Alliance 

The Shelter Dog Transport Alliance partners with county shelter systems experiencing overcrowding and limited space. When shelters reach capacity, SDTA safely transports at-risk dogs and cats to rescue partners in Northern states, where adoptive homes are available and waiting. Through these transport efforts, SDTA helps reduce overcrowding and gives shelter animals additional opportunities to find permanent homes.
